§ Mr. RAMSBOTHAMOn 31st March, 1934, the total number of children on the books of non-provided maintained public elementary schools in England and Wales was 1,760,110. 766,123 of these children, or approximately 44 per cent., were in schools organised in accordance with the principles of the Hadow Report.
