HC Deb 04 May 1934 vol 289 cc621-2W
Mr. HEPWORTH

asked the Minister of Health whether he has received any detailed report from Yorkshire showing the present position of water supplies after the recent rains; and whether there are any districts and, if so, which, where the shortage is still acute?

Sir H. YOUNG

I have not received any detailed report from Yorkshire, but I have obtained information which shows that the recent rains have effected some improvement in water supplies in Yorkshire, but that in some cases reserves are still below the essential minimum required to meet a normal summer.
