HC Deb 27 June 1934 vol 291 cc1131-2W
Mr. T. MORRIS

asked the Secretary for Mines whether he has any statistics to show what was the amount of petroleum obtained from borings in this country during the last year; and whether any of such product was actually used by the public?

Mr. E. BROWN

The production of petroleum in this country in 1933 was 38 tons. The figures for the three preceding years are given on page 97 of the Twelfth Annual Report of the Secretary for Mines, and are as follow:

Tons.
1930 60
1931 87
1932 91

I have no official information as to how this production is disposed of.
