§ Mr. THORNEasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury the individual amounts that the Members of the Goverment will receive when the restoration of salary cuts are made?
§ Mr. HORE-BELISHAThe individual amounts in question will be one-half in each case of the emergency reductions consequent on the crisis in the autumn of 1931. These reductions were, for Ministers other than the Law Officers of the Crown:
- (i) on salaries of £5,000 a year or more, 20 per cent.;
- (ii) on salaries of £2,000 a year or more but less than £5,000 a year, 15 per cent.;
- (iii) on salaries of less than £2,000 a year, 10 per cent.
In the case of the Law Officers of the Crown the reductions were at the rate of £5,000 a year for the Attorney-General and £4,000 a year for the Solicitor-General.
