It is not clear what is meant by the term "'S' shorthand-typists." The number of shorthand-typists paid from the Dominions Office Vote who were employed on 1st April, 1934, was:

Dominions Office, nine;

Oversea Settlement Office, two;

Empire Marketing Board liquidation staff, one.
