§ Mr. ELLIOTAs my hon. and gallant Friend is doubtless aware, the effect of the Tithe Acts, 1918 and 1925, was to stabilise the value of £100 tithe rentcharge (par value) at £109 3s. 11d. as from 1919 to 1926 and at £105 from 1927 onwards. If these Acts had not been passed, the value of £100 tithe rentcharge, calculated on the septennial corn averages would have been as follows:
