HC Deb 21 February 1934 vol 286 c352W
Mr. HALL-CAINE

asked the Minister of Transport whether, in connection with his new regulations for ensuring public safety, he proposes to suggest that applicants for motor licences should be compelled to show, before obtaining such licences, that they are able to read?

Mr. STANLEY

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer which I gave on 20th December to the hon. Member for South Kensington (Sir W. Davison), and of which I am sending him a copy.
