§ Sir G. FOXasked the Minister of Labour how many British workers went to Guernsey and Jersey under the temporary labour scheme during the 1933 season; and whether similar arrangements will be made for 1934?
§ Sir H. BETTERTONIn 1933, 2,471 British workers were engaged through the Employment Exchanges for seasonal agricultural work in Jersey. An article giving some details of the arrangements was included in the Ministry of Labour Gazette for December, 1933. Similar arrangements will be made for 1934. Additional labour of this kind is not, so far as I am aware, required in Guernsey.
