Mr. CHAMBERLAINThe sums advanced to France and Italy were borrowed by His Majesty's Government and these borrowings form part of our National Debt on which the interest is discharged each year out of the Budget. It is impossible to state the precise cost of this particular portion of our National Debt, but it is of course greatly in excess of the amounts we have received from France and Italy.
