Sir H. YOUNGThe hon. Member is under a misapprehension. I have not appointed a Committee to consider this subject.. Conferences have taken place between various representative bodies and officials of the Department, to see what measure of agreement could be reached on the outlines of new legislation if opportunity should arise for its introduction. Conferences have also taken place with representatives of the National Union of County Officers on matters specially concerning them.
