Sir H. YOUNGThe number of localities for which the Ministry received information of serious shortage was 31. Details are appended. I am anxious that every effort should be made to improve the water supplies in areas inadequately served, and I have in a special circular urged county councils and rural district councils to make full use of their powers of financially aiding the provision of water schemes. The Ministry assists and encourages the exercise of these powers on all favourable opportunities.
