Mr. Snapeasked the Secretary of State for Transport what criteria are used by him in deciding whether to place copies of non-parliamentary papers in the Vote Office; 263W why he did not place copies of the Green Paper "Possible Changes in the allocation of Road Track Costs and Vehicle Excise Duty Structure for Lorries" in the Vote Office; if he will now do so; and if he will make a statement.
Mr. RidleyMy hon. Friend's reply of 28 October to the hon. Member for Wansdyke (Mr. Aspinwall)—Vol. 47, c. 229—stated that a copy of the consultation paper issued by my Department was being placed in the Library. We judged that the demand for the paper would not justify placing a large number of copies in the Vote Office too. But I am sending one direct to the hon. Member.
