BROWNComplete information in respect of the year ended March, 1933, is not yet available, but during the year ended 31st December, 1932, the estimated amount paid by colliery owners in Great Britain in royalties and wayleaves, including the rental value of freehold minerals where worked by the proprietors, was £4,827,000, and in local rates for all purposes, £713,000. The corresponding figures for Durham were £658,000 and £91,000, respectively.
