HC Deb 03 March 1933 vol 275 c696W
Major HILLS

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he is aware that many people, in order to help the unemployed, are making an effort to employ male labour, both inside and outside the house, more freely than before; that such persons are immediately confronted with a demand note to pay 15s. male servants tax; and whether he will consider the possibility to give relief from this tax to such persons who are genuinely giving work to men otherwise unemployed?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA:

I would refer my right hon. and gallant Friend to the answer which I gave to the hon. and gallant Member for Coventry (Captain Strickland) on 21st February last.
