§ Mr. McENTEEasked the Minister of Transport whether any progress has been made for the electrification of the North-Eastern Railway Company's suburban lines?
Mr. STANLEYI am informed by the company that their schemes for the electrification of the suburban lines of their Great Northern and Great Eastern sections are being brought up-to-date preparatory to being submitted to the Standing Joint Committee to be set up in accordance with Section 31 of the London Passenger Transport Act, 1933. The approval of the scheme as a whole, and of the individual sections to be included in the scheme, will be a matter for that committee.
