§ Mr. SCRYMGEOUR-WEDDERBURNasked the Minister of Agriculture if he is now in a position to say what has been the result of his investigations into the effect of the withdrawal of the light-horse-breeding subsidy; and whether it will be possible for him to collaborate with the War Office at some future date in evolving a scheme for the encouragement of this industry?
§ Major ELLIOTAs regards the first part of the question, it is too early to state the effect of the withdrawal of grants for light-horse breeding. As regards the second part of the question, the possibility of collaborating with the War Office is under consideration; but I am not at present in a position to make any statement on the subject.
