§ Mr. SCRYMGEOUR-WEDDERBURNasked the Financial Secretary to the War Office the number of remounts purchased from England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the Irish Free State, respectively, during the first six months of this year; and whether he has any information to show that the recent withdrawal of the light-horse- 2798W breeding subsidy is likely to render it more difficult in future years to obtain satisfactory Army remounts within Great Britain?
§ Mr. COOPERThe numbers were 624 remounts from England and Wales, five from Scotland, 389 from Northern Ireland and 109 from the Irish Free State. It is too early yet to be able to say what effect the withdrawal of the light-horse breeding subsidy will have on the supply of remounts in future years.
