HC Deb 20 July 1933 vol 46 cc141-2W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what recent representations he has received with regard to the control of obscene videograms; what replies he has sent; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Mellor

We have received a considerable number of letters from members of the public, Members of Parliament and interested organisations. We have indicated that we fully accept the need for effective statutory controls in this area and that we have been urgently considering what form these should take. In this connection I refer the right hon. Member to the reply given to questions by my hon. Friends the Members for Harborough (Mr. Farr) and Bournemouth, East (Mr. Atkinson) on 14 July—[Vol. 45, c. 399–400.]
