HC Deb 20 July 1933 vol 46 c137W
Mr. Freeman

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what representations he has received regarding the measures needed to assist the Government in their policy of making more farming tenancies available in England and Wales.

Mr. Jopling

As I said in the House on 30 June—[Vol. 44, c. 692]—I intend to introduce legislation to implement the package of proposals put forward jointly by the presidents of the National Farmers Union and the Country Landowners Association. I have received a number of representations from individuals and organisations regarding the measures needed. The package has the broad based support of the industry and I see it as the best available solution to the problems of the tenanted sector in England and Wales.
