§ Mr. LUNNasked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether he has discussed, or proposes to discuss, with the South African representatives now in this country the proposal that Bechuanaland should be taken over by the Union of South Africa; and whether it is still the policy of His Majesty's Government to retain the responsibility for the welfare of the natives of this country?
Mr. THOMASThe matter has not been discussed with the Union representatives now in this country, nor has there been any change in the policy of His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom with regard to the Bechuanaland Protectorate.
