HC Deb 06 July 1933 vol 280 cc513-4W
Captain DIXON

asked the Minister of Agriculture when the Pigs Marketing Scheme is likely to be available for the consideration of the pig producers; and how long it will be in their hands before they have to vote upon it?

Major ELLIOT

The draft Pigs Marketing Scheme, as laid before Parliament, was printed and placed on sale by His Majesty's Stationery Office on 22nd June, and copies have since been obtainable from that source, price 4d. each. The Order formally approving the scheme, in the terms of the draft laid before Parliament, was made yesterday by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland and myself, arid copies of the Order, to which a print of the scheme is attached, will also be on sale by the Stationery Office in the course of a few days. The Board hope to issue on 8th July to all producers a form of registration and a leaflet explaining the scheme. The last date for registration for the purposes of the initial poll is 22nd July. The last date for receiving the votes of registered producers on the initial poll is 5th August.
