§ Mr. REMERasked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that some local authorities are making a condition for the Sunday opening of cinemas within their areas that, in addition to a certain percentage to be paid to charity, a sum shall be paid to the Cinematograph Fund, the latter being an extra payment; and what action does he propose to take to secure the observance of the Act?
Mr. STANLEYMy right hon. Friend is not aware that any such condition has been imposed by any cinematograph licensing authority. If the hon. Member will forward to him any information he has on the subject, my right hon. Friend will consider whether any action on his part is called for.
