asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs the number of persons who migrated from the United Kingdom to other parts of the British Empire during 1932, and during the present year up to the latest convenient date; the number of persons who entered this country from other parts of the Empire during the same periods, with the intention of remaining permanently in the United Kingdom; and the total amount expended by the Government in respect of State-aided migration schemes since the War?

The number of persons who migrated from the United Kingdom to other parts of the Empire during 1932 was 21,249, and during the 10 months ending 31st October, 1933, 16,914. The numbers entering the United Kingdom from other parts of the Empire during the same periods with the intention of remaining permanently in the United Kingdom were 54,269 and 38,915 respectively. The total amount expended by His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdon on State-aided migration schemes since the War to 30th September, 1933, is £9,000,408.
