HC Deb 06 December 1933 vol 283 c1644W
Captain ERSKINE-BOLST

asked the President of the Board of Trade what steps, if any, have been taken, or are being taken, to look after the dependants of the crew lost on the "Saxilby"?

Dr. BURGIN

The Board of Trade are arranging, in accordance with the provisions of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1894, for payment of any balance of wages to the next-of-kin of members of the crew of the steamship "Saxilby." I am informed that the claims of dependants under the Workmen's Compensation Act will be dealt with as speedily as possible.
