§ Sir D. MACLEANI regret that I have no information which would enable me to answer the first and second parts of this question. All the local education authorities in England and Wales provide books and stationery for the use of pupils attending public elementary schools, and 150 out of the 317 authorities make arrangements for the provision of meals under Sections 82–84 of the Education Act, 1921.
