HC Deb 11 May 1932 vol 265 c1920W
Mr. RHYS DAVIES

asked the Minister of Transport whether he has any information on the proposal of the Lancaster Rural District Council to repair, culvert and resurface a portion of the road within its area for the purpose of strengthening such road so as to convey coal landed at Glasson Dock to Lancaster and surrounding towns; and, if so, what is the estimated expenditure on this new work and the weight of the vehicles that the road is intended to carry?

Mr. PYBUS

I understand that the road to which the hon. Member refers is the Conder Green and Glasson Dock unclassified county road. I have no information as to any proposal to strengthen the road, but I understand that an estimate has been prepared for the reconstruction, at a cost of £533, of a culvert under the road which has shown signs of collapse as a, result of use by heavy traffic formerly moved by rail or water.
