§ Mr. RHYS DAVIESasked the Minister of Transport whether he has any information on the proposal of the Lancaster Rural District Council to repair, culvert and resurface a portion of the road within its area for the purpose of strengthening such road so as to convey coal landed at Glasson Dock to Lancaster and surrounding towns; and, if so, what is the estimated expenditure on this new work and the weight of the vehicles that the road is intended to carry?
§ Mr. PYBUSI understand that the road to which the hon. Member refers is the Conder Green and Glasson Dock unclassified county road. I have no information as to any proposal to strengthen the road, but I understand that an estimate has been prepared for the reconstruction, at a cost of £533, of a culvert under the road which has shown signs of collapse as a, result of use by heavy traffic formerly moved by rail or water.
