§ Sir J. GILMOURThe total capitalisation of British beet-sugar factories as at 31st March, 1931, was £7,243,468. I understand that of this total about 20 per cent. is held by other than British nationals, but I am unable to give the hon. Member more detailed particulars. Subsidy payments up to and including the 1930–31 season amounted to approximately £22,368,000.
