HC Deb 02 March 1932 vol 262 cc1112-3W
Mr. PERKINS

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air the number and the average cost of single-engined regular bombing squadrons and the number and average cost of auxiliary single-engined bombing squadrons?

Sir P. SASSOON

The number of regular squadrons of this type (including two torpedo bomber squadrons) is 24, and of Auxiliary Air Force squadrons eight.

The annual cost of a regular single-engine bomber squadron at home may be stated in round figures as about £85,000 under present conditions, and that of an Auxiliary Air Force squadron as about £50,000.
