HC Deb 07 July 1932 vol 268 c637W
Mr. HUTCHISON

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury what further expenditure is anticipated in connection with the Official History of the War; to what date this history is to be carried; and whether, in view of the fact that over 2200,000 has already been expended in its preparation, any economy in connection with its completion is possible?

Major ELLIOT

As regards the first and third part of the question, I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given by the Lord President of the Council to the hon. Member for Kingston-upon-Hull East (Brigadier-General Nation) on 4th February last, of which I am sending him a copy. As regards the second part of the question, it is not proposed to carry the Official History beyond the date of the Armistice.
