§ Major JESSONasked the Minister of Health whether, seeing that no member of a local authority is eligible for any salaried appointment under that authority, he will issue a circular to local authorities to the effect that no relieving officer should be permitted to stand as candidate for election to the local authority that employs him?
Sir H. YOUNGAn officer of a local authority is already debarred by law from being a member of that authority. As regards candidature, I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the answer I gave to him in this House on 11th February last. I have received no further information since that date, but if my hon. and gallant Friend has any such information on the subject, I should be glad to consider it.
