HC Deb 07 July 1932 vol 268 cc639-40W
Mr. DENVILLE

asked the Home Secretary whether, in making the order abolishing Brentford Fair, which was advertised in the London Gazette of 1st July, he gave consideration to the petition against the abolition, which was lodged upwards of two years ago, signed by more than 700 persons residing in the neighbourhood and, in addition, the protest made by a. deputation of the Showmen's Guild to the Home Secretary on 21st February, 1930?

Mr. STANLEY

Yes, Sir, the decision was reached only after careful and pro- longed consideration of all the representations made for and against the abolition of the fair.
