asked the Secretary of State for India what average wages are paid per month to the lowest form of labour in each of the following pursuits in India, including that of women when employed: jute workers, miners, agricultural labourers, steel workers, hides and lascars, skins, domestic servants (bearers), and railway coolies?

An indication of wage levels in various industries is given in general terms by the Royal Commission on Labour in India in chapter XII of their report. I regret that more accurate statistics are not available.
