HC Deb 11 February 1932 vol 261 c1047W
Mr. SMITHERS

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the fact that wine lees, argol, and tartrate of lime are raw materials and are not available in this country or in the Empire, and that exports, including citric acid, amount to nearly £400,000 per annum, and that a 10 per cent, duty will extinguish the export trade, he will put these articles on the free list?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I must ask my hon. Friend to await the publication of the Bill.
