HC Deb 08 December 1932 vol 272 cc1803-4W
Sir P. DAWSON

asked the Minister of Health if his attention has been called to the increasing pollution of the atmosphere by smoke in the Stepney district, particularly from plant controlled by the Port of London Authority; and what steps his officers are taking to enforce the provisions of the Smoke Nuisance Act?

Sir H. YOUNG

No, Sir, but if my hon. Friend will let me have particulars I will make inquiries. The enforcement of the provisions of the Public Health Acts relating to smoke nuisance rests with the local sanitary authority.
