CUNLIFFE-LISTERAccording to an estimate made by Sir Robert Kindersley, the results of which are stated in an article in the "Economic Journal" for September, 1931, the total nominal amount of British capital invested abroad (i.e., in British and foreign countries) in 1929 was about £3,738,000,000, and the income derived therefrom in that year was estimated at £231,000,000.
