HC Deb 15 September 1931 vol 256 c680W
Mr. F. GRAHAM

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether the measures for the reduction of soldiers' service pensions will include a revision of special campaign pension conditions?

Mr. COOPER

Yes, Sir. The present rates of special campaign pensions were introduced in 1921, and these will be reduced to a scale which, like that adopted for service pensions, takes into account the fall in the cost of living. Men who have been granted special campaign pensions before 1st October, 1931, will, however, continue to receive the higher scale of pension. It has also been decided to discontinue the provision for special campaign pensions in respect of any future campaigns.
