Sir H. YOUNGThe number of parishes in England and Wales entitled to elect a parish council is about 7,100, and the number of rural parishes not entitled to elect a parish council is about 5,600. The numbers of parish councils and parish meetings having financial transactions during the year ending 31st March, 1930, were 6,790 and 688 respectively.
