The following table shows the amounts borrowed from the Post Office Savings Bank Fund during the past five completed years for the purposes of the several Acts cited:

the 6,592 alien seamen who were permitted to land in the three months July to September, 1931; and whether any period of stay is fixed in these cases?

The figures asked for in the first part of the question are not available till the annual statistics are prepared. Detailed figures for 1930 will be found in Cmd. 3840. As regards the second part, I cannot say more than that each case is dealt with on its merits by the immigration officer who, wherever necessary, attaches suitable conditions to the grant of leave to land.
