§ Mr. BRACKENasked the Secretary of State for India whether, in view of the conditions in Indian factories, he will take steps to see that every Provincial Government shall strengthen the staff of factory inspectors and render an annual report as to conditions in Indian factories?
§ Mr. BENNEach Provincial Government already publishes an annual report on the working of the Indian Factories Act, which contains information as to conditions in the factories. As regards the remainder of the Question, I shall be in a better position to consider whether I can usefully address the Government of India when the report of the Royal Commission on Labour in India becomes available, which is expected to be towards the end of June.
