§ Mr. SHINWELLI have no information regarding the average pithead price of individual classes of coal. Assuming that semi-anthracite means Welsh dry steam coal, I am advised that a typical railway rate (including wagon hire) on this coal is 13s. 2d.–13s. 6d. per ton. I do not know what additional charges would be incurred in delivering this coal into the consumer's cellar. The present retail price in Central London is 51s.–52s. per ton.
