SMITHThe following table shows, in respect of the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States (a) the increase or decrease per head of the population in the domestic exports of wholly or partly manufactured goods, excluding tobacco, in 1930 compared with 1924, and (b) the value of the domestic exports of manufactured tobacco during the years 1924 and 1930.
§ Mr. GILLETTThe recommendation of the United Kingdom Trade Mission to South Africa on this subject has received careful consideration, but it has been decided that in the present condition of public finances effect cannot be given to it, in view of the considerable expenditure which would necessarily be involved.
