HC Deb 20 March 1931 vol 249 cc2285-6W
Sir N. GRATTAN-DOYLE

asked the Prime Minister whether the announce- ment made by the Secretary for Mines at Fauldhouse on 15th March, to the effect that no steps would be taken by the Government to prevent a return to the compulsory seven-hour day in coal mines in June, represents the policy of His Majesty's Government?

The PRIME MINISTER

The hon. Member's question does not correctly represent what my hon. Friend said, but, in any case, the matter is not one which can be dealt with by question and answer.
