§ Major POLEasked the Secretary of State for India whether the Government of India have instructed their agent in South Africa to make representations to the Government of the Cape Province in respect of its proposals which are designed to enfranchise all European men but only literate property-holding Indians in the Province?
§ Mr. BENNI have seen a copy of the Franchise Laws Amendment Bill which has been introduced in the Union Parliament, to which, I presume, my hon. and gallant Friend refers. I have not yet heard whether any representations have been made by the Government of India in the matter through their agent in the Union of South Africa.
