HC Deb 09 March 1931 vol 249 cc822-3W
Sir K. WOOD

asked the Minister of Transport whether his attention has been called to a recent accident at Camomile Bottom, Blackheath, and the observations of the Metropolitan magistrate in a case arising therefrom, and particularly the suggestion that the island should be again inspected to see whether any further public safeguards can be devised; and whether he is taking any action in the matter?

Mr. HERBERT MORRISON

I am aware of the suggestions made for the improvement of the lighting at Camomile Bottom, Blackheath, and arrangements have recently been made for the provision of reflector signs and of additional illuminated signs in each of the converging roads. The locality is being kept under observations, and if further illumination is considered necessary the position will be reviewed.
