§ Mr. BATEYasked the Minister of Transport if he is aware of the difficulty in the northern area which the owners of small omnibus companies are experiencing to obtain licences for the running of their omnibuses, although they have been in existence for five and nine 52W years, respectively; and will he inquire into the matter?
§ Mr. HERBERT MORRISONI am afraid I do not appreciate the precise nature of the difficulty to which my hon. Friend refers. Under the Public Service Vehicles (Transitory Provisions) Order provision is made for the continuance of existing services pending the grant or refusal of a road service licence. In the event of the refusal of a road service licence there is an appeal to me under Section 81 of the Road Traffic Act.
