asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many persons were proceeded against for murder in Scotland during each of the years 1920 to

Number of persons proceeded against for Murder, whose cases were disposed of within the year (i.e., all persons apprehended whose cases were disposed of within the year, including those discharged without being called for trial, but excluding persons charged with murder and found guilty of some lesser offence). Number of persons convicted of murder. Number of persons convicted of murder and executed. Number of persons proceeded against for Murder and ordered to be detained during His Majesty's pleasure on being found (a) to have committed the act charged but to be not guilty on the ground of insanity at toe time, or (b) insane and unfit to plead at time of trial. Number of persons proceeded against for Murder and found guilty of some lesser offence.
