Mr. PALMERasked the Attorney-General whether he is aware that, at the recent trial of Mr. Wallace at Liverpool on a charge of murder, the prosecution failed to bring to the notice of the defence their intention to call evidence which was not on the deposition; and whether any steps will be taken to obviate such an occurrence in the future?
§ The ATTORNEY-GENERALI am informed that no witness was called at the trial who had not given evidence at the police court, and in these circumstances it is not necessary to consider the suggestion contained in the last part of the question.
