Mr. OLDFIELD

asked the Minister of Health what is the number of council houses erected by the Billericay Rural District Council in the parishes of Lain-don, Pitsea, Vange, Basildon, and Wick-ford, respectively?

Mr. GREENWOOD

No houses have been built in the parishes named. The council have, however, provided or are taking steps to provide in other parishes of the district for the needs of the inhabitants of these parishes.

Mr. OLDFIELD

asked the Minister of Health what is the number of council houses erected by the Orsett, Rochford, and Billericay Rural District Councils, respectively, since the War; and what is, in each case, the number for which schemes have been submitted but not yet completed?

Mr. GREENWOOD

The numbers erected up to 31st May last were 682, 274 and 30 respectively; the numbers under construction on that date were 20, 12 and 18, and the numbers approved, but not commenced by that date were two, 22 and 22 respectively.
