§ Mr. AMMONThe numbers of civilian staff (industrial and non-industrial) employed at the six home dockyards, namely, Portsmouth, Devonport, Chatham, Sheerness, Rosyth and Pembroke Dock, in January, 1930, and at the present time, are 39,787 and 39,349 respectively. The figures given include staff on detached duty, e.g., those engaged on overseeing duties at the works of private firms, &c.
