HC Deb 26 February 1931 vol 248 cc2318-9W
Miss PICTON-TURBERVILL

asked the Minister of Pensions how many officers and how many men who were drawing disability pensions died during the year ended 31st March, 1930, as the direct result of their War disabilities; how many widows and how many children were left by these officers and men; how many officers and how many men who were drawing disability pensions died during the same year from causes other than their War disabilities; and how many widows and how many children were left by these officers and men?

Mr. F. O. ROBERTS

During the year ended 31st March, 1930, the Ministry were notified of the deaths of 320 officers and 6,770 other ranks, but the records of my Department do not enable me to give the number of those who died as the direct result of their War disabilities, or to say how many of them left widows or children. I am able to state, however, that during the same period, 79 pensions were awarded to widows of officers and 1,655 to widows or motherless children of non-commissioned officers and men.
